Eishu Kosuge
Chairman and CEO
Eishu Kosuge joined Daiwa in 1980 and has been actively involved in all areas of the business, having worked in Toronto, New York, Tokyo and London previously. In April 2005 he was made Executive Officer in charge of Capital Markets and in April 2006, was appointed as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Daiwa Securities SMBC Europe Limited.
Wilfried Schmidt
Vice Chairman
Wilfried Schmidt joined Daiwa in 1990. Working first in Tokyo in the International Underwriting Department, and moving to Daiwa Europe the following year, working in the Investment Banking Division until 1998 when he was appointed President of Daiwa Europe (Deutschland) GmbH, Frankfurt. When this became a branch of Daiwa Europe, he continued as Branch Manager until April 2005, when he was appointed Deputy President. He became Vice Chairman in April 2006.
Chikara Nakamura
President and COO
Chikara Nakamura joined Daiwa in 1983 and has held posts in
Zurich, Melbourne and Tokyo. He was General Manager,
Institutional Sales Department in Tokyo before coming to
London in 2004. For the last two years he has been General
Manager, Equity Division here in London. He was named President and Chief
Operating Officer of Daiwa Securities SMBC Europe Limited in
April 2006.
Michael Botevyle
Managing Director, Head of Personnel Department
Michael Botevyle joined Daiwa Securities SMBC Europe Limited in 1994. During the past twenty years he has been responsible for a broad range of personnel activities within the financial industry, including retail, commercial and investment banking sectors.
Andrew Asbury
Managing Director, Joint-Head of Fixed Income Division
Andrew Asbury joined Daiwa Securities SMBC Europe Limited in 2000 as Joint Head of Fixed Income and has played a key role in strengthening Daiwa's fixed income business. He has had a distinguished career with over 20 years experience in debt syndication and trading. Since joining the United Bank of Switzerland in 1985, he has held positions in the syndicate areas of Nomura International and Swiss Bank Corporation. From 1995 to 2000 he was heading the Global Debt Syndicate (excluding Japan) at Nomura International.
Doreen Langston
Chief Financial Officer, Managing Director, Head of Operations
Division
Doreen Langston joined Daiwa Securities SMBC Europe Limited in 2001 as Joint Head of Finance. She was promoted to Chief Financial Officer, Managing Director and the Head of the Operations Division in May 2005 and appointed to the Board in November 2005. She qualified with Arthur Andersens and has worked in the City since 1987, in a number of finance and operational roles, including 10 years at HSBC.
Richard Farrant
Non Executive Director
Richard Farrant joined the Board of Directors in 2007 as a Non Executive Director. He brings a great deal of valuable experience from a long career in the City. After a number of years at the Bank of England, Richard was appointed Chief Executive of the SFA, and later MD & COO of the FSA. He is currently a member of the UK Competition Commission.
